ECG Announces Emergency Maintenance Across Five Regions From October 26 to 30
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced emergency maintenance works across parts of the Central, Greater Accra, Tema and Volta regions following multiple technical faults that have disrupted electricity supply in affected communities.
According to ECG, the outages are linked to technical challenges within its power distribution network, necessitating urgent repairs and system upgrades to improve the reliability of electricity supply.
In a notice shared on its official social media platform, X, formerly Twitter, the power distributor said the maintenance exercise would run from Monday, October 26, to Friday, October 30, 2026.
The company indicated that some affected communities would experience power interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., while others would have outages from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The exact duration of the interruptions may vary depending on the location and nature of the work.
ECG explained that the temporary power cuts are necessary to allow engineers to carry out urgent repairs and upgrade parts of the distribution network.
The exercise is intended to address existing faults, strengthen the electricity distribution system and reduce the likelihood of further disruptions.
The announcement comes amid efforts by ECG to stabilise electricity supply and resolve technical challenges affecting its infrastructure.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to take note of the scheduled maintenance periods and make the necessary preparations to minimise inconvenience.
ECG is expected to undertake the works across the designated communities within the announced period as it seeks to improve service reliability and convenience.
