Being A Good Performer And Getting The Crowd To Sing Along Is Not About Inviting Men On Stage—Bongo
According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Sunday, October 25,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has taken a swipe at musician Sista Afia over her stage performances, calling on her to prioritise her music and talent over what he describes as excessive sensual displays.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Bongo Ideas criticised the singer’s alleged tendency to invite male fans onto the stage for physical interactions, including grinding and other suggestive displays.
He argued that entertaining an audience should be centred on quality music, energy and performance skills rather than relying heavily on such acts to attract attention.
“Make good music, bring the energy and let your talent speak!” Bongo Ideas wrote, stressing his belief that musical ability should be the main attraction at live performances.
The commentator further took issue with what he described as the repeated use of twerking and romantic displays during Sista Afia’s performances, suggesting that these elements had become too prominent in her entertainment style.
In a sarcastic comparison, Bongo Ideas likened the possibility of Sista Afia performing without such displays to expecting rapper Sarkodie to organise a GH₵100,000 giveaway, using the remark to emphasise his criticism of what he sees as a recurring pattern.
He also described the musician as “Buokrom Nicki Minaj” and urged her to offer audiences performances focused more on her musical talent than on what he called “relationship auditions.”
The post adds to the ongoing public conversation about stagecraft, artistic expression and the different ways musicians engage audiences during live performances.
