2027: ADC Reacts To APC Kaduna Rally, Reveals Why Rented Crowds, Empty Seats Proved APC’s Rejection

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over its Northwest zonal campaign flag-off rally in Kaduna State, describing the event as poorly attended despite what it alleged were substantial efforts to attract supporters.

According to a report by The Vanguard on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the opposition council accused the ruling party of failing to draw an impressive crowd to the gathering held at Kaduna Township Stadium, which reportedly has a capacity of approximately 5,000 people.

In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, the ADC-PCC alleged that attendees had been offered between ₦50,000 and ₦100,000 to participate in the rally. Despite the alleged financial incentives, the council claimed that several seats remained visibly empty throughout the event.

Ologbondiyan argued that the turnout reflected growing dissatisfaction with the APC and suggested that the party was losing public support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The council also criticised the response of attendees to speeches delivered by APC leaders, including President Bola Tinubu. It further questioned the President’s reported commissioning of road projects during the gathering.

According to the opposition group, some participants expressed their displeasure by chanting “Ba mu yi,” a Hausa expression associated with rejection. The council interpreted the chants as evidence of frustration with the ruling party and its policies.

The ADC-PCC also accused Tinubu of blaming opposition figures for Nigeria’s economic difficulties rather than accepting responsibility for the consequences of his administration’s decisions. It particularly highlighted the removal of the fuel subsidy, which it said had contributed to the financial pressure experienced by many Nigerians.
