Top MP Alleges How UDA Goons Attacked Him at Riruta SDA Church, Reveals How He Escaped in Nairobi

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has alleged that he was attacked by a group of goons at a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church in Riruta, Nairobi, accusing individuals linked to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) of being behind the incident.

In a statement shared on October 24, Amisi claimed that the group confronted him while telling him that the area belonged to supporters of the ruling party’s political camp.

The lawmaker described the incident as a frightening experience, alleging that the attackers were hired to intimidate him because of his political position.

Amisi said he was fortunate to escape after a friendly boda boda rider helped him leave the area. He suggested that the rider’s intervention prevented the situation from getting worse.

“I have been attacked at SDA church Riruta by UDA hired goons telling us that this is a TUTAM area. I am lucky to have been whisked away by a friendly boda boda rider,” Amisi said.

His claims have raised questions about political tolerance and the safety of leaders attending public gatherings, particularly as political activities continue to increase ahead of the 2027 General Election.

However, the allegations against UDA remain claims made by the MP, and further information would be needed to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The incident adds to growing concerns over political confrontations in Kenya, with leaders and their supporters facing calls to allow rival political groups to operate without intimidation or violence.
