Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has suggested what will make the Southwest support an Igbo presidency.

Soludo said if the Southeast supports President Bola Tinubu’s second term, the Southwest will back an Igbo presidency at the right time.

Addressing his followers in a video, the governor said: “Presidency is about discussion and agreement.

“Now that President Tinubu, from the South-West, is in power, if we in the South-East support him, then when power returns to the South after going to the North, the South-West will support an Igbo presidency.”

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Kenneth Okonkwo, has mourned the death of a Nollywood actor, Francis Duru, who died at the age of 57 years after a brief illness.

Taking to his official X handle, Okonkwo described Duru as a talent that will never be forgotten.

He said he was heartbroken to bid farewell to Duru who he called a dear younger colleague, a rare talent whose light shone brightly and whose humility spoke even louder than his talent.

The Nollywood veteran-turned politician further eulogised Duru, saying he was exceptionally gifted, passionate about his craft, respectful, and remarkably humble.

President Bola Tinubu will today, inaugurate an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja-Kaduna highway as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flags off its presidential campaign for the 2027 general elections in Kaduna State.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this on Friday in a post on his verified X handle @aonanuga1956, listing completed and ongoing road and rail projects across the region.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has said he will sign the death warrants of the four convicts in the Vegetable Market, Airport Road, Benin City kidnapping case if they do not appeal their sentence within the stipulated 30 days.

The governor, who gave the assurance while speaking during a fellowship at God’s People Worldwide Prayer Ministry, where he reviewed his administration’s efforts to curb kidnapping, cultism and other violent crimes in Edo State, said insecurity was one of the biggest worries he met on assuming office. He added that he raised the state of the roads and the security situation with President Bola Tinubu at their meeting. He said when the gunmen struck at the Vegetable Market, he called the President, who asked if he could handle it, and he said he could.

He said he then prayed for the kidnappers to be caught within 24 hours before calling the Commissioner of Police to demand their arrest.

“I told him I wanted these guys arrested because I already have an approval from God, and they were caught within that time,” he said.
