A crowd at President Bola Tinubu’s campaign rally in Kaduna State has been captured in a video chanting “BAMAYI!”, a Hausa expression meaning “we won’t support you,” as a convoy arrived at the venue.

DAILY POST reports that Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign officially kicked off today in Kaduna.

The video was shared on X on Saturday by political analyst and commentator, Imran Wakili, who drew attention to the chants as the convoy made its way to the rally.

The incident comes amid preparations by political parties and their candidates for the 2027 general elections.

As the All Progressives Congress, APC, flags off its campaigns with a rally in Kaduna on Saturday, the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, has been advised to focus on the achievements of the President Bola Tinubu administration.

Ali Oriri, coordinator of the Atiku Bagudu Grassroots Network for Tinubu 2027, a platform of Tinubu’s supporters, said the campaigns have provided an opportunity to deepen public understanding of the gains recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Oriri, who spoke on Saturday morning, stressed the conviction of the members in the transformative impact of the Tinubu administration’s reforms and the work being carried out in the areas of national planning and economic development.

He said, “This moment allows us to renew our collective commitment to the economic reforms that are gradually stabilising our nation.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, has said genomic analysis shows that the Ebola virus detected in Nigeria is closely related to the strain identified in Kenya.

Pate disclosed this on Friday during a press briefing on Ebola in Abuja, noting that there was no evidence of a travel link between Nigeria’s case and Kenya’s index case, despite the genetic similarity between the viruses.

“We have had additional information on the isolated case from the imported virus,” the minister said.

He said analysis was conducted using laboratory at the Centre for Disease Control and laboratories of Professor Christian Happi at the Redeemer’s University in Ede, Osun state.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has expressed the desire to leave the Presidential Villa in Abuja by 2031.

She said this at the inauguration of the Abuja headquarters of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.

The movement is a grassroots mobilisation group campaigning for the president’s return to office in 2027.

“I want to leave Aso Rock, in 2031, by the grace of God, and enter a Nigeria that me as a 70-something-year-old woman will enjoy,” she said.
