REST IN PEACE: 30-year-old woman dies after brutal attack while walking home

Omphemetse “Mimi” Moleleki, 30, has died following an alleged attack in Seweding, Mahikeng, in South Africa’s North West province, on 3 October 2026.

According to reports, Mimi was walking home when she was allegedly attacked and sexually assaulted. Her body was discovered the following morning, with multiple injuries. She was rushed to hospital for medical treatment but sadly succumbed to her injuries.

As of the latest available reports, no arrests had been made in connection with her death.

Mimi’s tragic passing has left her family, friends and community members devastated. Her death has also renewed concerns about gender-based violence and calls for those responsible for such crimes to be brought to justice.
