NDC election: Mistakes in voter register expose disorganisation – Oti NPP Women’s Organiser

The Oti Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Olivia Yawa Aglago, has described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a disorganised party, citing alleged discrepancies in its ongoing constituency executive elections.

According to her, the confusion surrounding the Women’s Organiser and Organiser positions in the elections reflects inadequate planning and coordination within the NDC.

The Nkwanta South Constituency election has been marred by errors involving the names of candidates for the Women’s Organiser and Organiser positions.

The discrepancies also affected the balloting process, forcing election authorities to suspend proceedings and arrange for new ballot papers to be printed.

The development has delayed the election, with voters expected to return once the corrected materials are available.

Reacting to the situation, Olivia Aglago said the NDC’s internal challenges could create an opportunity for the NPP to regain power.

She argued that the confusion demonstrated the need for a more organised and responsible political administration.

“We will allow them to continue with their confusion because it will give the NPP the opportunity to return to power and correct the mess,” she said.

The Oti Regional NPP Women’s Organiser expressed confidence that the developments could work to the advantage of her party as it prepares for future elections.

She encouraged party members to champion NPP to come back with a message of hope with Dr Mahamadu Bawumia in 2028.

Her comments come amid heightened attention surrounding the NDC’s constituency-level elections, particularly concerns about the organisation and management of the electoral process.
