Nana Konadu Wins Bono’s First GMB Crown as Pageant Marks 20th Edition

Nana Konadu has secured the Bono Region’s first Ghana’s Most Beautiful crown after winning the pageant’s 20th-anniversary “Legacy Edition” on October 18, 2026.

The 20-year-old Level 400 Communications student from Dormaa Ahenkro received GH¢200,000 and a brand-new SUV as her prizes. Her victory makes Bono the 11th region to produce a winner of the TV3 cultural pageant.

The result adds a new name to a winners’ list that began in 2007, when Central Region’s Lena Ama Acquah, known on stage as Ama, claimed the inaugural title.

Across the competition’s 20 editions, Central, Northern and Volta remain the most successful regions, with three crowns each.

Central’s victories came through Ama in 2007, Esi in 2015 and Ekua in 2019. Northern secured its titles through Nasara in 2009, Zeinab in 2017 and Teiya in 2022, while Volta’s winners were Emefa in 2012, Selorm in 2023 and Etornam in 2025.

Ashanti, Eastern and Greater Accra follow with two titles apiece. Akua won for Ashanti in 2011 before Sarfoa added another crown in 2021. Eastern’s successes came through Nana Ama in 2010 and Abena in 2018, while Adoley and Naa won for Greater Accra in 2008 and 2020 respectively.

Upper East, Upper West, Western and Savannah each have one title. Poka won for Upper East in 2013, Baci represented Upper West’s winning campaign in 2014, and Yaaba brought Western its crown in 2016.

Savannah joined the winners’ list in 2024 through Nihad Titiaka Ibrahim, whose victory also made her the competition’s first hijab-wearing champion.

Over the years, Ghana’s Most Beautiful has provided contestants with a national platform to showcase regional traditions, tell stories about their communities and promote social causes. Its cultural presentations have helped make heritage and public education central features of the competition.

Nana Konadu’s triumph gives Bono a defining moment in that history, securing its maiden crown during the pageant’s landmark anniversary edition.
