Latest updates on Fernando Da Cruz Future As Chiefs Coach

Kaizer Chiefs management is reportedly set to meet on Monday to discuss the future of coach Fernando Da Cruz, with uncertainty surrounding whether he will remain in charge for the upcoming Soweto Derby.

According to SoccerBeat, the meeting will focus on Da Cruz’s position at the club as pressure mounts over his future. However, no final decision has been confirmed, and the club could choose to delay its decision until closer to the high-profile clash against Orlando Pirates.

The report also suggests that Da Cruz’s presence on the touchline for the derby is not guaranteed, leaving questions over who could lead Amakhosi if management decides to make a change before the fixture.

The Soweto Derby is one of South African football’s most closely watched matches, with both Chiefs and Pirates facing intense scrutiny from supporters and the media. Any uncertainty over the coaching position ahead of the encounter is therefore likely to attract significant attention.

For Chiefs, the reported meeting could prove important in determining the direction of the team in the coming weeks. A decision to retain Da Cruz would signal that management intends to continue with its current plans, while a change would raise immediate questions about who could take charge and how the team would prepare for the derby.

At this stage, the report does not confirm whether Da Cruz will be dismissed, remain in his role or be replaced before the match. The outcome of Monday’s meeting is expected to provide a clearer indication of the club’s plans.

Kaizer Chiefs have not been quoted in the information provided as officially confirming the meeting or announcing any decision on the coach’s future.

Until the club makes a formal announcement, Da Cruz’s position remains uncertain, with supporters awaiting clarity on who will lead Amakhosi into their next major challenge.
