Is Miguel Cardoso’s Job at Risk After Sundowns’ Shock CAF Champions League Exit–story below

Questions are being raised about Miguel Cardoso’s future at Mamelodi Sundowns following the club’s early exit from the CAF Champions League. The disappointing result has left supporters wondering whether the Portuguese coach can still turn things around and help the team finish the season strongly.

Mamelodi Sundowns are one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs, with high expectations from their supporters. The team is known for its quality players, strong performances and desire to win major trophies. Because of this, failing to progress further in the CAF Champions League is a major disappointment for a club that wants to compete with Africa’s best teams.

Cardoso was appointed to guide Sundowns towards success, but the latest setback has placed more pressure on his shoulders. Supporters expect the team to perform well in both domestic competitions and continental tournaments. When results do not meet those expectations, questions about the coach’s tactics, team selection and overall performance naturally begin to emerge.

However, an early Champions League exit does not automatically mean that Cardoso will lose his job. Football clubs often consider several factors before making such an important decision. These include the team’s performances in the league, its progress in other competitions and whether the coach still has the support of the club’s management.

Cardoso could still have an opportunity to restore confidence by helping Sundowns deliver positive results in their remaining matches. Winning domestic trophies and improving the team’s performances could make a difference in how supporters view his leadership.

Nevertheless, the pressure is likely to increase if Sundowns continue to struggle. At a club where winning trophies is a major priority, disappointing results can quickly lead to serious discussions about the coaching position.

For now, the big question remains whether Cardoso can guide Mamelodi Sundowns back to winning ways. Although his future has become a topic of discussion following the Champions League disappointment, there is no confirmed indication that the club has decided to dismiss him. His performances in the remaining fixtures could play an important role in shaping the season and determining what comes next.
