If Asiedu Nketiah Steps Back, NDC Flagbearer Race Is Over – Mussa Dankwah

Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has made a bold statement about the future flagbearer race of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, if Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito, decides not to contest the flagbearership position, then there will be no contest at all in the NDC.

Speaking on the NDC’s internal politics, Mussa Dankwah explained that Asiedu Nketiah is the only person who can give the party a real contest when it comes to choosing its next flagbearer after President John Mahama.

He said without Asiedu Nketiah in the race, the flagbearer position will be a straight win for whoever is seen as the favourite, with no serious competition.

Asiedu Nketiah, who is the current National Chairman of the NDC, is considered one of the most powerful and experienced figures in the party. Many party supporters see him as a strong leader who has the grassroots support and the political weight to lead the NDC.

Mussa Dankwah’s comment suggests that other names being mentioned for the flagbearer position may not have the strength to challenge if General Mosquito decides to stay out.

His statement has sparked fresh debate within the NDC, with many asking whether Asiedu Nketiah will indeed contest or not, and what that would mean for the party’s future ahead of the 2028 elections.

For now, all eyes are on Asiedu Nketiah as Ghanaians wait to see his next political move.
