GTA Deputy CEO Appeals to Tourism Minister Over Communication Breakdown with CEO
Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has written to the Tourism Minister requesting assistance in resolving difficulties he faces in reaching the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Maame Efua Houadjeto, for urgent official consultations.
According to a leaked letter dated October 22, 2026, the Deputy CEO stated that his inability to secure meetings with the CEO has hindered timely decision-making, disrupted operational activities, and affected stakeholder engagements.
In the letter, Aggrey explained that the communication challenges have created bottlenecks in the day-to-day running of his office and have made it difficult to coordinate effectively with the CEO on matters requiring immediate attention.
He is therefore asking the Minister to intervene by helping to establish a more effective communication and consultation arrangement between the CEO and his office, so that official business can be conducted smoothly and without unnecessary delays.
The leaked correspondence highlights what appears to be an internal coordination problem at the GTA, with the Deputy CEO turning to the sector Minister as a mediator to address the impasse.
It remains unclear what has caused the difficulty in accessing the CEO, and neither the GTA nor the Ministry has publicly commented on the leaked letter. The development raises questions about internal working relationships at the Authority at a time when effective leadership coordination is critical to its operations and stakeholder engagements.
