You Clapped When Shatta Wale Said ‘Smoke Wee’ But You Want To Arrest Ghana Jollof—Mark To CID Boss
Former Deputy Minister for Tourism, Hon. Mark Okraku-Mantey, has called out the CID Boss for what he calls selective justice.
He asked a direct question: You were present at the concert when Shatta Wale incited the crowd to smoke wee, but you are now busy searching for Ghana Jollof?
According to Mark, the Director-General of the CID, Ms. Yaako Donkor, was at the Accra Sports Stadium during ShattaFest 2026 when Shatta Wale told the crowd to smoke marijuana and made comments that many described as inciting.
He says she watched it live, clapped, and did nothing. No arrest, no invitation, no statement.
But the same CID has now declared a young TikToker known as “Ghana Jollof” wanted for a TikTok page allegedly inciting violence.
Mark Okraku-Mantey says this is hypocrisy of the highest order.
He argued that if inciting the public is a crime, then Shatta Wale should have been the first to be arrested right at the stadium, in front of everyone.
“How can you be present at a concert where a musician openly tells thousands of youth to smoke wee, and you go home and sleep, but you are now hunting a small boy on TikTok for inciting violence? What kind of policing is that?” he quizzed.
He said the police must stop chasing small boys on social media for likes and deal with big offences committed openly at major concerts.
He added that Ghana’s creative industry will not grow if laws are applied based on who is popular and who is not.
For now, Shatta Wale has warned authorities not to try arresting him again, while Ghana Jollof remains wanted by the police.
