We Have Expelled Wike; We Followed It With a Certificate—Abdullahi

Ibrahim Abdullahi, a former Deputy National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a member of the Turaki-led faction, has maintained that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike is no longer a member of the party following his expulsion.

Abdullahi made this known during an interview with Channels Television while responding to questions about Wike’s continued affiliation with the PDP despite his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

He stated that the leadership of his faction had expelled Wike and issued him an official certificate confirming the decision. He questioned why the minister was still being regarded as a PDP member after the party had formally taken steps to remove him.

Abdullahi also faulted Wike for backing Tinubu’s second-term ambition when the PDP has its own presidential candidate. He described the minister’s position as hypocritical, arguing that his actions reflected inconsistency in his political stance.

The former deputy national secretary further accused Wike of adopting contradictory standards when commenting on other politicians who may aspire to lead Nigeria.

He warned that Wike’s political approach could eventually have serious consequences, adding that the minister’s remarks about other individuals seeking political power were difficult to reconcile with his own actions.

Speaking during the interview, Abdullahi said, “We have expelled this gentleman; we have followed it with a certificate of expulsion; have you heard that anywhere before?”
