VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo Gifts Man of the Match Award to Al-Nassr Teammate After Stellar Performance

According to a report by The Nation Nigeria on Friday, October 23, 2026, Cristiano Ronaldo has earned widespread attention after declining to keep the Man of the Match award following Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Faisaly in the Saudi Pro League and handing the prize to teammate Abdullah Al-Hamdan.

The Portuguese forward made the gesture after Friday’s encounter at Al-Majma’ah Sports City Stadium, where Al-Nassr secured another important league victory.

Ronaldo was initially selected as the best player of the match following his contribution to the win. However, the Al-Nassr captain chose to recognise Al-Hamdan’s impressive performance by personally presenting the award to the Saudi Arabian striker.

Footage of the moment showed Ronaldo bringing Al-Hamdan forward after the final whistle before handing him the prize. The pair also posed for photographs, with the gesture attracting attention from football fans on social media.

Al-Hamdan had a significant influence on the outcome of the match. He opened the scoring for Al-Nassr in the fourth minute with a powerful effort before playing a key role in the team’s attacking moves.

Ronaldo extended Al-Nassr’s advantage in the 49th minute, heading home a free-kick delivery from compatriot João Félix.

The Portuguese superstar appeared to have scored again later in the match after receiving a pass from Al-Hamdan, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Al-Hamdan subsequently contributed to Al-Nassr’s third goal, providing the assist for Brazilian forward Ângelo, who completed the scoring to seal the 3-1 victory.

Al-Faisaly managed to pull a goal back through Théo Bongonda in the second half, but Al-Nassr maintained their advantage to claim all three points.

Speaking after the match, Al-Hamdan expressed his appreciation for Ronaldo’s gesture, describing the opportunity to receive the award from the Portuguese star as a great honour.

He praised Ronaldo as one of football’s great legends and said the experience would motivate him to continue improving his performances.

Al-Hamdan also commended the five-time Ballon d’Or winner for his contributions both on and off the pitch, adding that younger players could learn a great deal from him.
