South African Star Shines In Europe

Relebohile Mofokeng Provides Assist as Union Saint-Gilloise Thrash Hapoel Be’er Sheva 4-0

Relebohile Mofokeng continued his impressive start to European football after providing an assist in Royale Union Saint-Gilloise’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

The former Orlando Pirates star was named in the starting line-up as the Belgian side secured their second victory in the competition this season. The convincing result strengthened their position in the league-phase standings and boosted their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages.

Mofokeng’s contribution was another encouraging sign of his progress since moving from South African football to Belgium. The 21-year-old has quickly begun demonstrating the creativity, technical ability and attacking instincts that established him as one of the most exciting young talents in the Betway Premiership.

The South African international played 79 minutes before being replaced by Kevin Rodriguez, having contributed to an impressive team performance against their Israeli opponents. Union Saint-Gilloise controlled proceedings and capitalised on their opportunities to secure all three points.

For Mofokeng, the assist represents another important milestone as he continues adapting to the demands of European football. His performances at Orlando Pirates earned him recognition among South Africa’s brightest prospects, and he is now working to establish himself in a more competitive international environment.

His ability to create scoring opportunities and operate in attacking positions could prove valuable as Union Saint-Gilloise navigate their domestic campaign alongside their European commitments.

The Belgian outfit currently occupy third position in the Europa League standings with seven points from three matches, placing them in a promising position at this stage of the competition.

Their next European assignment will see them face Spanish side Celta Vigo, presenting Mofokeng with another opportunity to demonstrate his quality against strong opposition.

South African supporters will be eager to see whether the talented attacker can maintain his momentum and continue making meaningful contributions as he builds his career abroad.
