Rare Appearance: Dr Zanetor Steps Out With Her Two Daughters at Nana Konadu’s Memorial

Environment, Science and Technology Minister Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has drawn attention after making a rare public appearance with two of her daughters at the first anniversary memorial service of her late mother, former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

The family gathered at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra on Friday, October 23, 2026, to honour Nana Konadu, who died on October 23, 2025, at the age of 76.

According to a post shared on YEN.com.gh’s official Facebook account, Dr Zanetor attended the solemn occasion with two of her three daughters. Their appearance attracted interest from social media users, particularly because the minister generally keeps her family life away from the public spotlight. In the photograph accompanying the report, Dr Zanetor appears in a white lace blouse with long, sheer sleeves, paired with a traditional kente wrapper. She completes her look with dark sunglasses.

Her daughter Leilani Rawlings stands beside her in a white lace dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline, while the second daughter also wears a white outfit and dark sunglasses. The coordinated clothing gives the family a graceful appearance at the memorial gathering.

Other members of the Rawlings family were present to honour the late former First Lady. Several prominent personalities, including Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and Chief of Staff Dr Julius Debrah, also attended the service.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings served as Ghana’s First Lady from 1981 to 2001. She was widely recognised for her advocacy for women’s empowerment, children’s rights and grassroots development through the 31st December Women’s Movement.

Her work made her a prominent figure in Ghana’s social and political history, and her first anniversary memorial provided an opportunity for relatives, friends and public figures to celebrate her life and contributions.

While the gathering was primarily an occasion of remembrance, Dr Zanetor’s appearance with her daughters offered a rare glimpse of the family as they came together to honour their loved one.
