Maraga opposes move to ban live streaming of election results

Former Chief Justice David Maraga has opposed proposed parliamentary changes seeking to bar the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from live-streaming election results.In a statement shared on his social media pages on Friday, October 23, 2026, Maraga said the Constitution requires Kenya’s electoral system to uphold accuracy, verifiability, security, accountability and transparency.
