Man.United captain Bruno Fernandes’ home burgled during Champions League defeat to Como

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes’ home in Cheshire, England, was burgled on Wednesday night while the Portuguese midfielder was playing in his side’s 4–1 Champions League defeat to Como in Italy.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on October 21, with police confirming that several items were stolen from the property.

According to Reuters, three unidentified men were spotted in the rear garden of a neighbouring property, prompting a call to Cheshire Police. Officers arrived at the scene but found that the suspects had already left.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said officers discovered that a burglary had occurred and that a number of items had been taken.

Detective Inspector Dave Jarvis confirmed that an investigation had been launched and enquiries were ongoing to identify those responsible.

Neither Fernandes nor his family was at home when the incident occurred. According to reports cited by Reuters, the intruders spent less than five minutes inside the property before police arrived.

The burglary came after a difficult night for the 32-year-old midfielder, whose Manchester United side suffered a 4–1 defeat to Como in the Champions League.
