Magvlyn Industries, Producers Of Mobile Water Mark 30-Years; Unveil New Logo

Magvlyn Industries Limited, the premier company behind sachet water in Ghana and its Mobile Water brand, has commemorated 30 years in Ghana’s packaged drinking water industry, reflecting on its pioneering role in making potable water more accessible and affordable.

The anniversary celebration held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra brought together regulators, high dignitaries, franchise operators, suppliers, customers and other industry stakeholders to recognise the company’s journey since it began operations in 1996.

Chief Executive Officer of Magvlyn Industries, Mr Magnus Nunoo, addressing the gathering said the business was established to provide consumers with a convenient and affordable alternative to the traditional practice of drinking water from communal cups.

He explained that, before sachet water became widespread, drinking water was commonly sold in cups and shared among several people.

Mr Nunoo said his interest in packaged water production was sparked by an innovation he had observed in Nigeria, which inspired him to explore the commercial potential of sachet water in Ghana.

Driven by that vision, he entered the industry in 1996, positioning himself among the early entrepreneurs who helped establish packaged drinking water as an important segment of Ghana’s beverage market.

He said launching the business required a major personal sacrifice, including leaving a promising career with one of the country’s leading oil marketing companies to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.

Mr Anthony Boateng, Board Chairman of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Water Research Institute, commended Magvlyn Industries for maintaining its operations over the past three decades despite the difficult conditions confronting businesses in Ghana.

He said companies operating in the country had to contend with several challenges, including limited access to finance, high energy costs, regulatory obstacles, bureaucratic delays and changing market conditions.

Mr Boateng noted that overcoming such difficulties demanded resilience, innovation and the ability to adapt to evolving business circumstances.

He praised the management and employees of Mobile Water for sustaining the brand’s relevance and keeping the business operational through three decades of industry changes.

Commenting on the company’s anniversary identity, he said the logo reflected the organisation’s history, the determination behind its growth and its aspirations for the future.

“The logo honours our past, reflects the resilience that has carried us through the years and points to a future of sustainability, quality and innovation,” he said.

The milestone marks a significant chapter in Magvlyn Industries’ development, as the company reflects on its contribution to Ghana’s sachet water sector and the entrepreneurial vision that inspired its establishment.

Its 30-year journey also highlights the role of private enterprise in expanding access to packaged drinking water while navigating the operational and economic pressures associated with manufacturing in Ghana.

Established in 1996 by Mr. Magnus Nunoo, Magvlyn Industries Limited has emerged as a stalwart in Ghana’s beverage industry, renowned for its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

The company’s flagship brand, Mobile Water, has been a household name in Ghana for over 28 years, providing high-quality, safe, and affordable drinking water to the Ghanaian market. Magvlyn Industries Limited’s journey began with a vision to provide clean and safe drinking water to the Ghanaian population.

The company’s founders recognized the need for a reliable and accessible source of drinking water, and their perseverance and dedication have yielded a brand that is synonymous with trust, reliability, and quality.

Over the years, the company has expanded its operations, invested in cutting-edge technology, and introduced new products to cater to the evolving needs of its customers.
