Jomo Cosmos faces the rock-bottom Leruma United

SEDIBENG.- Jomo Cosmos will make a short trip to Daveyton in Benoni to play against struggling Leruma United in an ABC Motsepe League fixture at the Sinaba Stadium on Saturday.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00.

Cosmos currently sits 12th on the Stream B log standings without a point after three matches, while their opponents occupy eighth position having played two games.

The Gauteng ABC Motsepe League is divided into two streams of 12 teams, A and B. Cosmos were originally due to face Mike-1-Stars FC last weekend, but that fixture did not materialise. Sedibeng Ster Sport remains unaware of why the game was cancelled despite being scheduled.

United heads into this weekend’s encounter following a heavy 4-0 defeat against Mabopane JM, leaving them looking like a terminally ill patient with only days left to live yet still hoping for survival.

They face a Cosmos side equally desperate for all three points to close the gap at the top of the table.

This season, Cosmos are aiming for nothing less than challenging for the league title as their stay in the ABC Motsepe League is long overdue to reclaim their status in top-flight football.

The upcoming fixture promises to be exciting as United are also fighting for maximum points with the relegation axe hovering over their necks.

Both clubs successfully survived the chop last season.
