I Have Three Daughters, Luckily They Never Crossed Paths With Zakaria Abdulai – Okraku-Mantey

Former Deputy Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, Hon. Mark Okraku-Mantey, has spoken about the Obuasi SHTS scandal, and his words are straight from a father’s heart.

The music producer, who is a father of three daughters, said he feels lucky his girls never crossed paths with the embattled headmaster.

“I have three daughters and luckily for me, they didn’t cross path with Zakaria Abdulai,” he said.

Zakaria Abdulai is the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School. He was suspended on October 13 by Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu after a JoyNews documentary by Manasseh Azure Awuni titled “Inside the Dreaded Headmaster’s Bungalow.”

The documentary alleges that the headmaster sexually abused female students in his bungalow and tried to silence one girl with GH¢100. What started as 5 complaints has now grown to 19 alleged victims.

The shocking part is that the complaints were not new. Reports say five girls reported to the Municipal Education office in March 2026. Nothing happened for seven months until the documentary aired.

The Ghana Education Service has now interdicted Mr. Abdulai and the Police CID is investigating. The allegations are still under investigation and have not yet been proven in court.

Mr. Abdulai has also resigned as NDC Secretary for Juaben and pulled out of the constituency chairmanship race.

For parents like Okraku-Mantey, this is every father’s worst nightmare.
