I Have Over 277 Houses In Ghana And It Is A Waste – Kennedy Agyapong
Ghanaian politician and businessman Kennedy Agyapong has described his ownership of more than 277 houses across the country as a regrettable investment, saying the properties have not delivered the satisfaction or financial benefits he once expected.
According to GhanaWeb, Agyapong made the remarks during a public discussion about his life, wealth and the lessons he has learned over the years. He explained that he began investing heavily in real estate many years ago, believing that acquiring land and constructing houses was a reliable way to secure his finances.
Through years of work and investment, he accumulated more than 277 properties in different parts of Ghana. However, he now questions whether concentrating so much of his wealth in buildings was the right decision.
Agyapong reportedly said many of the houses remain unoccupied, while others generate insufficient rental income. He also highlighted the substantial costs involved in maintaining such a large property portfolio, explaining that managing the buildings has sometimes become a source of stress rather than a rewarding investment.
Reflecting on his experiences, the businessman said he has begun reassessing his priorities and considering the legacy he hopes to leave behind. He suggested that accumulating wealth should not be the ultimate measure of success, arguing that money becomes more meaningful when it improves lives and provides lasting fulfilment.
He also urged young people to approach financial decisions carefully instead of committing most of their resources to property or other material possessions. According to him, people should consider alternative investments and ensure their wealth serves practical purposes.
Agyapong’s comments offer a different perspective on his extensive property holdings, challenging the assumption that owning numerous houses automatically guarantees happiness, financial security or personal satisfaction. He indicated that despite his substantial portfolio, the experience has not brought the fulfilment many might expect.
