Hoodlums vandalise Tinubu campaign secretariat in Ibadan

According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Thursday, October 22, 2026, suspected hoodlums have vandalised the secretariat of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu–Kehinde Olaosebikan Grassroots Movement (PBAT-KO Movement) in Oluyole Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The attack reportedly occurred at the movement’s office situated in the CICU Building along Olomi-Olojuoro Road. The assailants allegedly damaged several campaign banners, signboards and other political materials within the premises. They also smashed multiple windows, leaving parts of the building damaged.

Members of the movement reportedly discovered the destruction when they arrived at the secretariat after the incident. However, the circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, as the identities of the suspected perpetrators have not been established.

The PBAT-KO Movement was established late last year by Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, a former chairman of Oluyole Local Government and chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Tinubu/Shettima All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State during the 2023 general elections.

The group was formed to strengthen grassroots political mobilisation and promote support for President Tinubu’s ambition to secure a second term in office. Since its establishment, the movement has conducted political activities across Oluyole and other parts of the state to expand the President’s support base ahead of the next presidential election.

Speaking with journalists while showing them the vandalised secretariat, the movement’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Femi Omolola, maintained that the incident would not discourage members from pursuing their political objectives.

Omolola reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting Tinubu, stressing that the destruction of its facilities would not affect its determination to continue its mobilisation efforts.

He also expressed confidence in the President’s leadership, stating that Tinubu would work towards achieving the country’s aspirations. According to him, the APC possesses the organisational capacity and political strength required to sustain its activities and achieve its objectives.

The publicity secretary further described the APC as Africa’s most formidable and best-organised political party, expressing confidence in its ability to overcome political challenges.

Omolola also predicted that Tinubu would defeat his opponents in the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027.

As of the time the report was published, no official explanation had been provided regarding the vandalism, and no individuals had been identified as responsible for the attack.
