Another Goal Contribution for Mofokeng as Union Saint-Gilloise Thrash Hapoel Beer Sheva

Bafana Bafana star Relebohile Mofokeng continued his impressive start to life in European football after registering another assist as Royale Union Saint-Gilloise recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over Hapoel Beer Sheva in the UEFA Europa League.

The South African attacker started the match and played an important role in his team’s attacking display before being substituted in the 79th minute for Kevin Rodríguez. His latest contribution further strengthened his growing reputation in Belgium following his move from Orlando Pirates.

Union Saint-Gilloise controlled the encounter to secure their second victory in the Europa League campaign, adding valuable points as they continued their push in the competition.

Mofokeng’s performance will be encouraging for South African football supporters, who have been following his progress since his move to Europe. His ability to create opportunities for teammates, combined with his pace and technical quality, has made him an important attacking option for the Belgian club.

The 21-year-old previously attracted significant attention during his time at Orlando Pirates, where he established himself as one of the country’s most exciting young talents. His move to Europe represented a new challenge, requiring him to adapt to a different footballing environment and the demands of competing against unfamiliar opposition.

His latest assist adds to the positive start he has made at Union Saint-Gilloise and offers further evidence of his contribution beyond scoring goals.

The Belgian side’s victory also provides a boost to its European campaign. With several matches still to come, consistency will be important as the club looks to secure a strong position in the league phase.

Union Saint-Gilloise are next scheduled to face Spanish side Celta Vigo in the Europa League, giving Mofokeng another opportunity to showcase his abilities against European opposition.

For Bafana Bafana, the attacker’s continued involvement at club level could be a positive development as he gains valuable experience abroad. If he maintains his current progress, Mofokeng will hope to build on his early success and establish himself as a regular contributor for the Belgian outfit.
