“Abronye Who Promised to Capture Bono Seats for Bawumia Is Praising Ibrahim Mahama” —Jennifer Oppong

US-based NPP member and political commentator Jennifer Oppong has reacted to comments and developments involving Bono Regional NPP Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, and businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

In a post shared on her official Facebook page on Friday, October 23, 2026, Oppong questioned what she considers a change in Abronye’s position, particularly regarding his earlier political activities in support of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Oppong recalled that Abronye had promised to help secure parliamentary seats in the Bono Region for Bawumia. She compared that position with what she described as his current praise for Ibrahim Mahama.

Her comments suggested that she found the situation surprising, given Abronye’s previous political stance and his association with efforts to strengthen the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the region.

Oppong also referred to Paul Yandoh and comments about sharing opportunities with the youth in connection with Amoakohene. She linked these developments to her criticism of the political situation and the apparent shift in attention towards Ibrahim Mahama.

In expressing her view, Oppong declared that the situation was completely finished, adding a laughing emoji to emphasise her reaction.

Her post reflects the political commentary and disagreements that continue to shape discussions among members and supporters of the NPP. It also highlights how statements and public appearances by political figures can attract scrutiny from party members, commentators and the wider public.

However, Oppong’s remarks represent her personal assessment of the situation. The specific circumstances surrounding the comments she referenced would require further clarification to establish the full context.

The post has added to the ongoing political conversations surrounding party loyalty, political messaging and the public positions of prominent figures within Ghana’s political landscape.
