A Zimbabwean Man in SA Who Arranged to Bring His Wife to SA Cried Out After She Went Missing

A Zimbabwean Man in South Africa who arranged to bring his wife into the country has been left devastated after she mysteriously disappeared while travelling from Zimbabwe to Johannesburg.

The missing woman, identified as 40-year-old Allerta Zimuto Pondiwa, was reportedly travelling alone on Saturday, 17 October 2026, when communication with her family suddenly stopped.

According to information shared by her relatives, Allerta had planned to reunite with her husband in South Africa. Her husband was expecting her arrival and had reportedly made arrangements to meet her at Park Station in Johannesburg.

Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a joyful reunion between husband and wife has now turned into a worrying situation, leaving the family desperately searching for answers about her whereabouts.

Reports from her relatives indicate that Allerta successfully crossed the border from Zimbabwe into South Africa through an unofficial route.

After entering South Africa, she reportedly contacted her family and informed them that she was preparing to board a lift from Musina, a town near the Zimbabwean border in Limpopo.

She explained that the vehicle would take her towards Naboomspruit, also known as Mookgophong, in Limpopo province.

However, that conversation became the last reported communication anyone received from her.

Since then, her relatives have reportedly been unable to establish her whereabouts or confirm whether she safely reached her intended destination.

Her husband, who was waiting to welcome her in Johannesburg, has confirmed that she never arrived at Park Station as expected.

The unexpected disappearance has raised serious concerns among her loved ones, particularly because she was travelling alone and depended on unfamiliar transport arrangements to reach Johannesburg.

For the family, the uncertainty surrounding her disappearance has become increasingly distressing.

They are now hoping that someone who travelled along the same route, particularly between Musina and Naboomspruit, might have information that could help establish what happened.

Although the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unclear, there is currently no confirmed information suggesting that she was involved in an accident, abducted, or deliberately went missing.

Her family continues to hope that she is safe and will soon make contact.

The incident also highlights the potential dangers faced by travellers who use unofficial border crossings and informal transport arrangements, especially when travelling long distances without companions.

As the search continues, relatives are appealing to members of the public who may have seen Allerta Zimuto Pondiwa or know anything about her movements to come forward with credible information.
