What I Told Those Who Asked Me Reason Why I’m Contesting Against President Tinubu In 2027- Makinde

The governor of Oyo state and Presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Seyi Makinde has revealed what he told those who asked him reason why he’s contesting against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This was contained in a report that was published on the official X handle of Vanguard on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

In the report that surfaced online, the Oyo state governor said he told the people that former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo and Olu Falae contested in the same election. He said there is nothing wrong if two people from the Southwest region contest in an election.

The governor of Oyo state said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not performed well since it attained power.

Here is what Seyi Makinde said according to Vanguard;

“In 1999, the entire Nigeria ceased the presidency to the Southwest and we had two of our fathers, President Obasanjo and Baba Olu Falae. They contested the presidency and heaven did not fall”.
