“We Won’t Think Together With Those Who Created Ghana’s Problems” — A-Plus Fires Back at Okudzeto

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as Kwame A-Plus, has reacted to comments by legal practitioner and statesman Sam Okudzeto about the country’s challenges.

Mr Okudzeto spoke on the $10 billion New Economy Policy on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He called for a national outlook, with politics put aside, so that Ghanaians can think together and identify what went wrong. He said Ghana was the envy of many nations after independence but is now lagging behind.

Kwame A-Plus responded the same day on his official Facebook page. He said he would not take part in such an effort. He argued that the problems began before the youth were born.

The MP also said that when John Dramani Mahama came to fix what had been destroyed, some people spent years “playing against” him. He added that the same people strongly supported former President Nana Akufo-Addo, even when his government was going wrong.

Kwame A-Plus questioned why the youth are now being asked to join the same people to think. He expressed his disbelief with the Ghanaian expression “Bɔi.”

He then made a clear demand. He asked Mr Okudzeto and his age mates to identify what they did wrong, agree on a date, and formally apologise to the youth.

“We have no interest in thinking together with the very people who created the problems,” he wrote.

The MP suggested that the older generation should think among themselves. He said the youth would think together with musician Shatta Wale instead. He ended the post with a polite “Thank you.”

The post has drawn wide attention on social media. It also adds to the ongoing debate about the role of the youth in national discussions and the responsibility of older political leaders for Ghana’s problems.
