The Black Maidens drew 3-3 with the South American side in their second Group C match on Wednesday, recovering from their opening 3-0 defeat by Norway.

Adarkwah admitted Ghana could have secured all three points but was pleased with the team’s overall display, despite their inability to convert several scoring opportunities.

β€œWe did very well. We are in one of the toughest groups, but I’m proud of my girls,” he told FIFA Media.

β€œAfter equalising, we had so many chances, but they are young, they are learning, so we have a lot to do with the girls, but I’m happy for them.”

The Ghana coach also acknowledged Brazil’s standing in women’s football, while expressing confidence that his team would continue to improve.

β€œWe are like them, but Brazil are up there. We are getting stronger, and we will get there,” he added.

Ghana will face Canada in their final Group C fixture on Saturday, 24 October, as they seek to finish the group stage on a positive note.
