Tears as Top NDC Member Confirmed Dead

Ghanaian actor, comedian and politician Seth Kwame Dzokoto has reportedly died after collapsing while participating in a radio discussion at Owass Radio in Tarkwa, Western Region.

Reports circulating on Thursday, October 22, 2026, indicate that Dzokoto became unwell during a panel discussion on the station’s morning programme, prompting his transfer to a hospital for medical attention.

According to reports by Ghanaian media outlets, including Citi Newsroom, the entertainer was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. A source reportedly associated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the political party he represented in the past, also confirmed the news.

However, the precise circumstances surrounding the incident and the official cause of death had not been made public as of the time of reporting.

Dzokoto was a recognised figure in Ghana’s entertainment industry, having built a career spanning acting, comedy, television presentation and radio broadcasting.

He became widely known for portraying Judge Koboo in the long-running television series Efiewura, a role that earned him recognition among viewers. He also presented Edziban, a television programme dedicated to Ghanaian food, cuisine and culinary traditions.

In addition to his entertainment career, Dzokoto pursued an interest in politics under the NDC. He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the party’s ticket during Ghana’s 2016 general elections.

His reported passing comes shortly after he addressed public speculation about his health in September 2026. During an interview at the time, he dismissed rumours suggesting that he had died and spoke about health-related difficulties he had experienced.

The news of his reported death is expected to prompt reactions from colleagues in the entertainment industry, political associates and admirers of his work. Further information about the circumstances of the incident and funeral arrangements is yet to be announced.

Dzokoto’s contributions to Ghanaian television, comedy and broadcasting made him a familiar personality across the country’s media landscape.
