Reality star Kash’s mom calls for arrest of woman involved in fight with daughter before her shooting death

Reality star Kash’s mom is calling for the arrest of a woman who was involved in a fight with her daughter before she was fatally shot.

Kash’s mom, Cynthia, told TMZ that she feels the woman in question shouldn’t be walking free because she allegedly instigated the fatal incident.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Kash was fatally shot during a brawl in Oakland on the morning of October 11. Kash’s sister, identified as Vernika Dunbar, allegedly fired the shot that killed her during the physical altercation. Vernika faces felony charges.

The Oakland Police Department said that Kash and another woman were brawling when Dunbar tried to defend her sister, TMZ reported. Dunbar was allegedly trying to pistol-whip the woman when the gun went off and struck Kash.

Cynthia told the news outlet that she was confident her daughter’s killing wasn’t deliberate, and Vernika was trying to keep her sister safe from harm.

She also said Vernika felt she wasn’t doing anything wrong when she stepped in to protect her sister, and she never thought the gun would discharge. Cynthia said there’s no way her children would deliberately hurt each other.

Following the shooting, Kash was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Vernika was ultimately arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter, assault with a firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

Cynthia said it was rare for Vernika to carry guns, and the weapon that killed her sister did not belong to her. She said she did not know the owner of the weapon or why Vernika was in possession of it.

Cynthia described their family as very close, and the sisters had no issues with each other. Before the fatal incident, the sisters were at her granddaughter’s flag football game before they made their way to a motorcycle club later that day, TMZ reported. Cynthia said her daughters had fun at the motorcycle club and even sang together.

She described the violence as something unexpected, adding that the shooting was a tragedy, and it shouldn’t have occurred.
