This was contained in a post that the former governor of Anambra state shared on his official X handle on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

This is coming after Ifeanyi Nwolie was killed during a rally that was organized by members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC in Enugu state.

In the statement that surfaced online, Peter Obi stated that he attended his funeral ceremony immediately after he arrived in Nigeria from the United Kingdom. Peter Obi urged politicians to shun violence during elections.

“Late Ifeanyi Nwolie was one of my supporters who participated in the recent NDC political activity marred by violence on October 10, 2026. Tragically, he was shot. His death is a painful reminder of the devastating human cost of our nation’s current toxic political environment”.
