Radio Host Breaks Silence on Kwame Dzokoto’s Death, Reveals What Happened Inside the Studio

Late Ghanaian actor and media personality Seth Kwame Dzokoto reportedly drove himself to Owass FM in Tarkwa on Thursday morning to participate in a radio discussion before falling ill and collapsing in the studio.

Prince Kwaw Gyimah, host of the station’s morning programme, Oman Nkosuo, confirmed the incident during an interview on Adom FM’s Kasiebo Is Tasty.

According to Mr Gyimah, Dzokoto arrived at the station on his own and was preparing for the scheduled discussion when the programme began at approximately 8:45 a.m.

He said the actor’s condition deteriorated shortly after they went on air, forcing the team to suspend the broadcast and arrange for him to receive medical attention.

“Kwame Dzokoto was on Oman Nkosuo on Owass FM in Tarkwa. He drove himself to the studio, and we started the discussion at about 8:45 a.m. Shortly afterwards, we realised he was becoming unwell, so we had to suspend the programme,” he recounted.

Mr Gyimah explained that the team immediately rushed Dzokoto to a hospital.

However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The actor’s death comes after he addressed public concerns about his health in September 2026, following a public appearance that triggered speculation among some fans.

During an interview at the time, Dzokoto dismissed rumours of his death and disclosed that he had been managing health challenges, including high blood pressure and diabetes.

He also revealed that he had undergone surgery abroad with financial assistance from businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

Dzokoto was a well-known figure in Ghana’s entertainment industry, particularly for his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular television series Efiewura.

His work in the entertainment sector earned him recognition among television audiences across the country.

Beyond acting, he built a career in radio and television broadcasting and later ventured into politics.

He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2016 general elections.
