Power Rangers star Amy Jo Johnson says she’s ‘happy to be alive’ after plane disaster with Donnie Wahlberg

LEAVE A COMMENT Power Rangers actress Amy Jo Johnson shared insight into her harrowing runway experience on Sunday alongside her friend, Donnie Wahlberg. The pair were traveling in a group of eight from Las Vegas to Toronto, Canada, when their private plane skidded off the runway in a horrifying moment.

Amy Jo took to Instagram to recap the scary experience, from seeing Donnie and his boyband, New Kids on the Block, in concert, to their runway crash.

"It was an eventful weekend. That's for sure. Watching the incredible @donniewahlberg and his mates crush it in their last show in Vegas," she wrote in the caption. "And then surviving a very hairy plane situation. But we did. And I'm grateful and very happy to be alive!"

In the first photo of the 56-year-old's carousel, she was seated on a New Kids on the Block display with a smile on her face; next came photos of her at Donnie's concert, followed by snaps of the group walking on the tarmac towards the plane.

She then shared photos of the accident from outside the plane, where a wing had caught on a fence. Amy Jo concluded with a photo of Donnie embracing the staff, followed by a single flower.

"You rock Amy Jo! So thankful for you, and for my buddy Matt! So very blessed!" Donnie added in the comment section. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.

Harry Reid International Airport, where the group were departing from, shared a statement on social media detailing the harrowing accident.

"At approximately 11 a.m., upon departure, a general aviation aircraft skid[ded] off runway 1L at LAS and made contact with the perimeter fence," the statement read.

"There are no known injuries at this time. Runways 1R and 1L will be closed for inspection, and travelers may experience some delays. We will provide updates as more information becomes available."

Donnie and his group were on stage to perform for their Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live before the accident occurred.

The Blue Bloods actor reassured fans that all was well in a social media video taken on the tarmac after the incident. "We were taking off and didn't get up in the air and ran out of runway. I'm just going to tell you these pilots saved our lives. And God covered us," he explained.

"We just finished praying, and I looked out the window and said, 'We are not getting up in the air today. But we're safe and thankful, and all is well."

"I made this video for my friends and family after the incident, but so many of you all are my family too, so I figured I'd share with you," he wrote in the caption. "Yes, it was me and my team/friends onboard the aircraft. It was a rather intense few moments (which felt like a few long minutes)."

"Thankful to God, of course, and to our incredible pilots who did an amazing job of keeping us safe and avoiding a serious disaster. The airplane did take some lumps – but we did not. Thank you to all the emergency personnel on the ground in Las Vegas! You all were absolutely wonderful."
