Osei-Asare praises Edudzi Tamakloe’s performance before PAC
Member of Parliament for Atiwa East and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairperson Abena Osei-Asare has urged public sector leaders to be proactive and demonstrate a strong understanding of their responsibilities, citing National Petroleum Authority Chief Executive Officer Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe as an example.
She said Tamakloe’s performance before the committee, where he responded to questions on the authority’s operations and audit issues, had impressed her.
“I must say that I was really impressed with your CEO when he came for the sitting,” Osei-Asare said during an engagement with officials of the petroleum sector.
She explained that Tamakloe had been able to respond to questions from different sides of the committee, demonstrating the importance of being well prepared when accounting for public resources.
“For every aspect of it, he was able to answer, and I was so impressed also with the audit on the upper. I take you to the left, you are able to answer. I bring you to the centre, you give me good responses, and to the right,” she said.
Osei-Asare said public officials entrusted with leadership responsibilities must take their duties seriously and protect the institutions and resources placed under their care.
“Once you are entrusted with something, you should take it seriously and protect it and guard it and pursue it so that even the person who gave it to you will sit back and feel proud,” she said.
