Obi: An Ex-Gov Coming To Benue Asked Me For Bulletproof Car, I Should Say No Due To Politics? -Ortom
In an interview with Channels Television, former Governor Samuel Ortom said the fact that he gave Peter Obi a vehicle to use during Obi’s recent visit to Benue does not mean he is supporting Obi for president in 2027
Ortom said when he wanted Obi to be president in 2023 he publicly declared his support for Obi. He said now he is solidly in support of President Bola Tinubu
Ortom said he even publicly declared his support for Tinubu’s re-election during a reception for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt
In Ortom’s words: “What is wrong about that? A former governor requesting that he is coming to Benue and if I have a bulletproof car I should give him. I should say no because of politics? There are certain things that are beyond politics. When I was supporting Peter Obi in 2023 did I not say it? But when I went to Port Harcourt, when my friend and leader Wike was made the minister of FCT and there was a reception for him, I said that 2027 we were going to work with President Tinubu”
