Never mistake the NPP’s silence for forgetfulness – John Boadu hints

Share on Twitter The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has indicated in a powerful message to party faithful and political opponents that the party’s silence should never be mistaken for forgetfulness.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, laden with symbolism, Mr. Boadu invoked the elephant – the official symbol of the NPP, to convey a message of resilience, memory and political resolve.

“An elephant may walk a thousand miles and appear to have forgotten the footprints behind it, but never mistake its silence for forgetfulness. The elephant remembers the path, the hands that fed it, and those that wounded it,” he stated on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

Using the elephant as a metaphor for the party itself, Mr. Boadu suggested that periods of relative quietness should not be construed as weakness or a loss of focus.

He stressed that while time may pass and the political landscape may evolve, memory remains a powerful force.

“Time may pass, circumstances may change, and the forest may grow quiet, but when the moment comes, memory speaks louder than words,” he added.

Mr. Boadu further struck a defiant tone, reaffirming the party’s identity and determination to return stronger.

“We are the New Patriotic Party! Bringing Back the Winning Ways,” he declared, reinforcing the NPP’s quest to rebuild, reconnect with its grassroots and position itself for the next general election.

The statement comes as the NPP seeks to reorganise and strengthen its structures following the election of new national executives to steer the affairs of the party and lead its efforts towards recapturing power in 2028.

Mr. Boadu’s message serves as both a rallying call and a warning that the opposition party has not lost sight of its journey, its loyal supporters, or the lessons from its recent political experiences.
