Mr Eazi Predicts Becoming Afrobeats’ First US Dollar Billionaire

According to Punch News report Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has expressed confidence that he could become Afrobeats’ first US dollar billionaire, saying the milestone may be closer than many people expect.

The artiste, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade, made the remarks during an interview with British radio station Capital XTRA in October 2026, where he discussed his wealth, business interests and personal ambitions.

When asked about becoming the first billionaire in Afrobeats, Mr Eazi responded by distinguishing between billionaire status in African currencies and in US dollars. He indicated that he had already attained billionaire status in currencies such as the Nigerian naira and Ghanaian cedi, but had yet to reach the same level in US dollars.

“US dollars, you know, soon come. I’m not really looking for that; that’s not the target. But I see it; it’s coming. Anytime now,” he said.

Despite his confidence, the singer explained that becoming a billionaire was not his primary objective. He identified freedom, particularly the ability to create and release music on his own terms, as one of his most important priorities.

Beyond music, Mr Eazi has developed business interests through ventures including emPawa Africa, which supports emerging African artistes, and Zagadat Capital, his investment firm.

His business activities extend into investments outside the entertainment industry, reflecting his efforts to build income streams beyond music releases and performances.

However, Mr Eazi’s comments do not independently establish his current net worth or confirm that he is close to becoming a US dollar billionaire. No verified financial figures were provided to substantiate the timeline for achieving that milestone.

His remarks have nevertheless renewed conversations about wealth creation and entrepreneurship within the Afrobeats industry, where musicians are increasingly exploring business opportunities beyond their artistic careers.

For Mr Eazi, the ambition appears to be building a broader business portfolio while maintaining the creative independence he values.
