Meet Zipporah Njeri: Beautiful Nairobi Woman Appointed After Mosiria Was Fired
Zipporah Njeri Mwangi has attracted public attention after Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja appointed her to take over Geoffrey Mosiria’s former duties following his removal from office.
Mwangi was appointed on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to oversee Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service in the Nairobi City County Government. She will serve in an acting capacity while retaining her current position as Chief Officer for City Culture, Arts and Tourism.
Her appointment comes amid rising political tensions in Nairobi ahead of the 2027 general election.
Despite her new responsibilities, little is publicly known about Mwangi’s personal life. Details about her age, education, family and early life remain largely undisclosed.
Unlike Mosiria, who has frequently made headlines because of his outspoken remarks and political ambitions, Mwangi has mainly been recognised for her work within the county administration.
In her current role, she oversees activities related to culture, arts and tourism, including promoting Nairobi’s cultural identity and supporting creative initiatives.
Her latest appointment means she will manage two departments while continuing with her existing responsibilities. The additional role places her at the centre of efforts to improve communication between the county government and Nairobi residents.Mosiria’s removal came after he announced plans to challenge Sakaja for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2027 elections. He had also expressed interest in facing Embakasi East MP Babu Owino at the ballot.
Following his dismissal, Mosiria criticised the governor on social media, claiming he had been sidelined for nearly three years.
He further alleged that the budget for his former health department had been reduced from KSh 1.2 billion to KSh 100 million after he refused to follow what he described as questionable direct procurement demands.
These allegations have not been independently verified.
Mwangi’s appointment marks a new chapter in her career, giving her greater responsibilities as Nairobi County undergoes leadership changes ahead of the 2027 elections.
