Mama Rachel Ruto Says President Ruto Is a Man Dedicated to Serving Kenyans

First Lady Rachel Ruto has publicly expressed confidence in President William Ruto’s leadership, commending his dedication to national service while encouraging Kenyans to pray for him and other government officials.

Speaking during an address in Kerio Valley on Wednesday, October 21, Rachel defended her husband’s commitment to the country, saying the responsibilities of the presidency had not diminished his determination to serve the public.

“I will say this without fear: our president is a man who has dedicated himself to serving Kenyans,” she said.

The First Lady linked the President’s commitment to his religious beliefs, suggesting that his faith continued to provide him with the strength and determination needed to fulfil his responsibilities.

She also stressed that government services should reach every Kenyan, regardless of their background or geographical location. According to her, fairness and national unity remain essential to ensuring that public programmes benefit citizens across the country.

Rachel called on Kenyans to continue praying for President Ruto and other leaders as the nation prepares for another year. She expressed hope that such prayers would encourage those in authority to carry out their duties effectively while helping to maintain peace and stability.

Security in Kerio Valley was another major issue addressed during her speech. The region has experienced persistent insecurity, including banditry and conflicts that have disrupted communities and affected residents’ livelihoods.

The First Lady emphasised that lasting development would remain difficult to achieve unless peace and security were established. She urged local communities to promote understanding, cooperation and peaceful relations.

“Peace must prevail here in Kerio Valley. Without peace, development cannot be achieved or seen,” she said.

Her comments come as President Ruto faces increasing political pressure ahead of Kenya’s 2027 General Election. Opposition figures have continued to question his administration’s performance, particularly regarding economic conditions, the rising cost of living and the delivery of essential public services.

Rachel’s remarks demonstrate her continued support for the President as his administration seeks to convince citizens that it remains committed to its development agenda and campaign promises.

The address also highlights the First Lady’s growing involvement in public engagements, where she frequently emphasises faith, peaceful coexistence and national unity.

As the political environment becomes increasingly competitive, the administration is expected to face closer scrutiny from citizens seeking tangible improvements in their daily lives.

Ultimately, public confidence in the government will depend not only on assurances and appeals for support but also on its ability to deliver meaningful results, improve security and address the concerns affecting ordinary Kenyans.
