‘lt’s very unprofessional, unreasonable and reckless to describe Debibi Presby Park as a cassava plantation pitch’ – Debibi United chief fires back to GoldStars SC manager Petros Koukouras

The Ghanaian elite division newbies cash-splasher has clapped back at the sharp-tongued Greek importer manager following his acerbic remarks on the match venue of the Bono Region based club over the weekend

Debibi United president Nana Alexander Ababio has launched a scatting attack on Bibiani GoldStars SC coach Petros Koukouras after labelling the Presby Park as a Pitch not meant for football but rather a playing surface designated for cassava plantation.

The 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League Zone 1 Champions bankroller was boiling with anger when the former South Sudan assistant manager made such damning and unmeasured commentaries against his outfit after the Golden Boys succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to his side on Matchday 7 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Reacting over the nauseating comments, the Ghanaian football administrator has said such provoking remarks are completely unacceptable, unprofessional, unreasonable and reckless on the part of the former Ugandan Pacific Heroes FC manager.

Speaking in an interview, Nana Alexander Ababio has fired to Kumas-based Oyerepa FM: ”lt is very unprofessional, unreasonable and reckless for Petros Koukouras to describe the Debibi Presby Park as a cassava plantation. His comments are rubbish and completely unacceptable.”

He continued: ”Even some international Stadiums experience uneven and bumpy pitches during rainfall. The Accra Sports Stadium, University of Ghana Sports Stadium and Baba Yara Stadium have all experienced unplayable conditions when it rains. Our park is far better than many venues we have visited across Ghana.”

That notwithstanding, with his unmeasured commentaries being directed at their league rivals, the Ghana FA Disciplinary Committee could be forced to take a disciplinary action against the former Kiyovu Sports manager over his forceful remarks after bringing the game into disrepute.
