JUST IN: Orlando Pirates Have Announced the Departure of Another Top Technical Staff, Check Out

Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed the departure of assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi, who is reportedly preparing to take up a head coaching position at another club in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The Soweto-based club announced the development on Thursday, 22 October 2026, bringing Ncikazi’s time on the Buccaneers’ technical team to an end as he prepares for a new chapter in his coaching career.

Ncikazi has played a role in Pirates’ technical setup, working alongside head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou during the club’s domestic and continental campaigns. His responsibilities included contributing to team preparations, tactical planning and efforts to maintain the club’s competitiveness.

His anticipated move into a head coaching position would give him greater responsibility for managing a team, implementing his football philosophy and making key technical decisions.

Pirates chairman Dr Irvin Khoza expressed appreciation for Ncikazi’s contribution and wished him well in his next professional undertaking.

“Mandla leaves with our gratitude and our blessing. His contribution to Orlando Pirates has been evident throughout his time with us,” Khoza said.

He added that the club respected Ncikazi’s decision to pursue the opportunity and wished him success in his new responsibility.

Ncikazi’s departure represents a change for the Pirates technical team as the club continues its campaign across various competitions.

Further details regarding his reported destination and the club’s plans for its coaching structure have yet to be confirmed. His next appointment could provide an opportunity to further establish himself as a head coach in South African football.
