INEC Announced More Than 103M Voters, Nigerians Went To Its Portal And Found An Empty Page- Atiku

The fomer Vice President of Nigeria and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar has criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC over the issue of voters register.

The statement of Atiku Abubakar was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

In the statement that the former Vice President of Nigeria shared on his official X handle, he said the Independent National Electoral Commission announced more than 103 million registered voters. He said people visited the portal to confirm the names but found an empty page.

Atiku Abubakar said INEC must provide the names of all the people who have registered on its portal. He said nobody will be allowed to rig the forthcoming general elections.

The former Vice President said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Joash Ojo Amupitan can not hide the register and expect Nigerians to trust them.

Here is what Atiku Abubakar wrote on his official X handle;

“INEC has announced more than 103 million registered voters. Nigerians went to its portal to inspect the names and found an empty page. That is an outrage. A figure cannot answer an objection. A press announcement cannot tell a voter whether her name has been omitted. Show Nigerians the register”.
