I’m already a billionaire in Naira, will soon be billionaire in dollars – Singer, Mr Eazi

Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has suggested that becoming Afrobeats’ first US dollar billionaire could be within reach.

Speaking during an interview on Capital XTRA, the artiste was asked whether he is on track to hit the billionaire milestone. Responding to the question, he humorously broke down his financial standing by currency, confirming that he has already crossed that threshold in Nigerian naira, along with other African currencies.

When the conversation shifted specifically to US dollars, Mr Eazi remained optimistic. 

“US dollars, you know, soon come. I’m not really looking for that, that’s not the target. But I see it; it’s coming. Anytime now,” he stated. However, he emphasized that wealth accumulation is secondary to creative freedom and running his business empire on his own terms.

The entrepreneur, who holds diverse business interests including stakes in international tech and ticketing ventures as well as major betting partnerships like Choplife Gaming, also addressed comparisons to American rap mogul Jay-Z.

Embracing the parallels between their music-and-business trajectories, he joked about his marriage to actress Temi Otedola: 

“Jay-Z is Jay-Z. I’m Mr Eazi. Jay-Z has Beyoncé I have Temi”
