If Tinubu Wants To Speak, They Will Bring A Podium Where He Will Not Have To Climb A Step” Okonkwo

According to a video posted on Symfoni TV on Thursday October 22, 2026, Kenneth Okonkwo said that if President Tinubu wants to speak at a podium, those around him will provide one that needs no steps. He used the remark to suggest the president is unwell. He spoke at a town hall meeting in Abuja.

Okonkwo said the people around the president would be the ones governing. He said a vote for Tinubu is a vote for those associates. He described this as the truth.

He said he does not like to make capital out of anyone’s sickness. He said anybody can be sick. He then explained his position on leadership.

In his words, Okonkwo said, “If he wants to talk in a podium, they will bring the podium where he will not climb step. That’s the truth.

“I don’t like to make capital with the sickness of any human being, because anybody can be sick. But when you’re sick, say, I’m done. And all of us will be praying for you so that you will retire and eat the one that you have made in peace,” he said.

Okonkwo said the problem comes when an unwell person wants to govern an unwell country. He said both would suffer together. He said Nigeria needs a fit and capable person.

He also said the president’s trip abroad was described as a working vacation. He called it a medical vacation. He said the president had been away for months.

Okonkwo said the constitution requires the vice president to act after 21 days. He asked which parliament would allow this. He also said that if the president is not campaigning, there is no need for a presidential campaign council.

The video does not include any response from the presidency or any medical information. The claims about the president’s health are Okonkwo’s own. He ended by urging voters to back Atiku Abubakar.
