Ghana’s Cynthia Kwabi set for African Table Tennis Championships in Morocco
Ghanaian table tennis player Cynthia Kwabi is set to represent the country at the 2026 ITTF African Championships in Tangier, Morocco.
Kwabi and fellow Ghanaian Joanita Borteye are among the players expected to fly Ghana’s flag at the continental championship, scheduled for October 18–25. Both secured their places through the ITTF World Rankings, highlighting their standing in African women’s table tennis.
A member of the Ghana Immigration Service, Kwabi brings valuable international experience to the competition, having represented Ghana at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia.
She has also represented the country at the African Championships in 2021, 2023 and 2025, gaining valuable experience against some of the continent’s top players.
Kwabi heads into the championship following an impressive run on the domestic circuit. She won consecutive editions of the GTTA SHEROES Open Championship in February 2026 and will be looking to translate her recent form into a strong performance in Morocco.
Beyond her achievements as a player, Kwabi has also participated in initiatives aimed at developing table tennis, including the ITTF Global Youth Training Camp and a leadership programme in China in December 2025, where she served as Head of Delegation and took part in a programme focused on female leadership in the sport.
With Ghana seeking a strong showing at the African Championships, Kwabi will be aiming to make the most of the opportunity, test herself against the continent’s best and contribute to the country’s campaign in Tangier.
