Geoffrey Mosiria Makes Explosive Claims Against Sakaja and Babu Owino,”I Am Their Common Enemy”

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement Geoffrey Mosiria has made explosive claims against his boss, Governor Johnson Sakaja, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, alleging the two are working together ahead of the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race.

Speaking on October 21, 2026, Mosiria claimed that his boss Sakaja and Babu Owino are working together and that he is their common enemy.

In a statement shared by Lightcast TV Kenya, Mosiria further alleged that Babu Owino received Ksh20 million and is getting Ksh1 million weekly from Sakaja.

He claimed the Embakasi East MP intends to be paid Ksh2.5 billion by Sakaja to withdraw from the 2027 Nairobi City County gubernatorial race.

These are allegations made by Mosiria and have not been independently verified, and neither Governor Sakaja nor Babu Owino has publicly responded to the latest claims by press time.

The remarks come amid growing tension within City Hall. Mosiria, who has declared interest in the Nairobi governor seat in 2027, has accused Sakaja of sidelining him after he questioned financial decisions in the county, including being stripped of his accounting officer powers in 2023.

He was moved from Health to Environment in 2024, and later to his current docket in late 2025, transfers he says were punitive.

Sakaja, who won the seat on a UDA ticket in 2022, is seeking re-election. Babu Owino, who recently ditched ODM for The Mwananchi Party, has also declared he will vie for the governor seat, promising a clean city free of corruption.

The 2027 Nairobi race is shaping up to be crowded, with Mosiria, Sakaja, Babu Owino, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Agnes Kagure, James Gakuya and Ronald Karauri all linked to the contest.
