From Channel One Community Legend to international recognition: Dr Emmanuella Amoako wins 2026 Roux Prize

Ghanaian paediatric oncologist Dr Emmanuella Amoako has earned international recognition after being named the winner of the 2026 Roux Prize, months after becoming the inaugural recipient of Channel One TV’s Community Legends award.Dr Amoako, whose work is transforming childhood cancer care in Ghana, was announced as the winner of the prestigious award by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) in August 2026.
